This book has boosted my confidence in preparation for the PTCB exam by 100%. There are some typos, and I wish they would publish an updated edition. (The typos were not as numerous as the other reviews suggested. In comparision to other books like this, there were certainly no more–typos seem to be the norm for this type of manual.) The book starts with a review of fractions and takes you all the way to alligations, ration/proportion, and retail math, all done in a format that isn’t intimidating or dry/boring. An excellent review for those of us who have been out of school for a few years and need to refresh our memory on the basics, and learn a few new concepts.

I ordered this book to help me study for my upcoming certification test. While it’s not totally useless for that purpose, I have been very frustrated by the many inaccuracies. This is pretty lame for a “text book.” So many of the so-called answers are wrong that it makes me doubt the text portion of the book. If you can get your hands on any other pharmacy tech math book don’t waste your money on this one.

This book is a good book to use for a review of math concepts when preparing to take the Pharmacy Technician Certification test. However, be aware that the book is full of errors and typos. In chapter one alone, I found more than five errors in the answer section found in the back of the book. If you can look past the typos and focus on the concepts presented, it can still be considered helpful.

Yes this book doesn’t have all the answers, but you can contact Don Ballington at Midlands tech in SC to get the help you need. Very helpful and informative..

This book is probably the only modern treatment of Dioscorides. It is certainly the best.It is almost impossible to obtain a copy of Dioscorides’ text in any language. Dr. Riddle makes reading the original almost unnecessary and it is a pity that his book is already out of print. Anyone with an interest in Greek, and therefore Western, uses of plants as medicines will be unable to put this book down.

I work as a pharmaceutical industry consultant. This provides another resource for AWP pricing. It’s easier and faster to pick this up than try and find the price online.

The text gives the student a complete understanding of clinical and therapeutics. Each section is designed to give a basic as well as a thorough understanding for the student.

The book teaches nothing about becoming a pharmacy technician. It is a series of multiple choice questions in three sections. The first is on drug, the second is on math and the third is on communications. It gives no explanation for right or wrong answers.

This book has nothing but questions, with no elaboration whatsoever on the significance of the answers. I was sorely disappointed when I opened it up; the title is necessarily misleading due to lack of meaningful content.
